AFCEA Members and Friends,

Welcome back from Spring Break. Join us next week at AFCEA TechNet Fort Bragg 2015 -- an outstanding local conference at the Embassy Suites in Fayetteville, NC. All FORSCOM and USARC personnel are authorized to attend, provided your supervisor approves, in duty status, that is, you do not need to take leave in order to attend.

This is a conference designed for you, as part of the Ft Bragg Signal community, and hosted by our local chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), of which many of you are members.

The theme of the conference is “Enabling Mission Command in a Complex World.” While our fiscal budgets are tightening and the Army structure continues to be cut, our mission complexity is vastly increasing, and thus, we need to work together to develop new and innovative ways to achieve mission success with fewer personnel and resources. The aim is to host a practical conference, providing the right forum to highlight solutions and a way-ahead on the toughest issues being faced by Fort Bragg’s Information Systems community over the next 18 months. The right government and industry mission command leaders and experts will be there to discuss solutions for the road ahead. They want to hear what challenges and innovative solutions are required to enable you to conduct mission command!

The agenda includes a pre-conference event on Monday afternoon, 20 April, that is, a golf tournament at Gates Four Golf and Country Club followed by a welcome reception. Then, the conference kicks-off Tuesday morning, 21 Apr, and concludes with a luncheon on Wednesday. Hosted events include a government and industry panel, presentations by other leaders and experts, a cyber hacking competition (which I encourage our best and brightest cyber experts to participate in), project management and technical training sessions, and a technology show highlighting outstanding industry solutions.

Although the conference fee is waived for military and GS civilians....you still need to RSVP to attend:

- RSVP to attend the conference and/or participate in the Cyber Hacking competition at www.TechNetFortBragg.com

- Golf: $70 per person (only $50 for active duty military); includes cart, greens fees, free beverages, and lunch. RSVP at www.afcea-nc.org. While you do not need to take leave to attend the conference, you do need to be in leave status to participate in the golf tournament.

Sharpen your professional skills and strengthen your professional network -- RSVP today to attend TechNet next week.
